Happy New Year!

Happy New Year bloggy friends!

Abby partied it up in style for the ending of 2010 / beginning of 2011.  Actually, Peter, Abicus, and I went to dinner at Chilli's and then "chilled" at home together.  Of course, Abby was asleep when the year changed over but thanks to some awesome friends, we had some fun beforehand.  Laura and Todd sneakily dropped off a bag of New Years goodies since we couldn't make it to their party.  So nice of them! 

Life sure does change once you have a baby - it's funny to think back on some of our pre-baby New Years Eve events.

Happy 2011 everyone!  We are looking forward to more Abigail milestones this year and much happiness and good health!

 

Santa Baby

Abby's first Christmas came and went!  We all had a great time, although quite exhausting going from place to place. 

We went up to Bethlehem on Christmas Eve and attended service at Edgeboro Moravian Church - Abby's first candle service!  She was a cutie in her dress.  She did really well during the 1 hour on my lap and at the end with the Morning Star soloist I just took her towards the back of the church so she wouldn't cry out and interupt the child's solo - plus it was packed and there were lots and lots of candles so it was a bit safer and roomier in the back. 

Then we drove on Sunset Dr. to see the crazy Christmas lights display on the house that decorates to the max each year.

On Christmas day we first went to the Stauffers house (Granma and Grandad), then to Groovy Grampy's where Santa was in attendance, then to the Rhines's for dinner (Nana and Pop Pop), and then home to our house.  Whew!  It was a whirlwind.  Abby had another Christmas dress on and of course was adorable.  The next day we got about 8" of snow but before it got too bad, Nana and Pop Pop and Uncle Chris and Aunt Jennifer came down for lunch and our gift exchange.   

Abigail got to see lots of her family and got lots of nice things for her very first Christmas on this earth.  She got a nice mix of clothes, toys, books, stuffed animals, and other useful baby things.  She got a nice bouncer/jumper from Uncle Chris and Aunt Jennifer and it comes in handy and she loves it!  For now we stick a photo album under her feet since she's short but she does love to bounce crazily in it and play with all the doodads attached to it.  Maybe I can post a video to my blog to share.

Just Throwin In Some Cuteness

National Christmas Center

A little over a week ago we took Abigail to the National Christmas Center in Lancaster and Nana and Pop Pop came too.  It was actually a pretty neat place and there was tons of lights and things for Abby to look at and she had her first experience of meeting Santa and getting her picture taken on his lap.   It got me in the Christmas spirit that's for sure. 

Oh, and of course afterwards we all ate at a very crowded Shady Maple.  Great day!



So Incredibly Thankful!

Abby's first Thanksgiving was a success!  We saw almost every single family member (and even Chris online via live iChat) and stayed at Nana & Pop Pop's house for 2 two nights and had a Thanksgiving feast at Groovy Grampy's house.

Then, on the Saturday after Thanksgiving we had the Rhines' and Stauffers down for our very first feast as hosts and cooks.  Peter and I roasted a 13 lb. turkey and had all the fixins plus some.  It was all delish and it was just great to have everyone together.

Abby was a very good girl and we got to spend a lot of time at home and with family.  We traced her hand and made her first turkey drawing.  Of course it's the tiniest turkey ever.

We are so thankful this year for our little girl and couldn't ask for anything better.  This holiday gives me a whole new meaning now. 



Sweet Potato Love

We've been giving Abigail vegetables beginning early-mid October and has since been introduced to fruit as well (1st level).  She loves all her food, which makes for a happy mommy and daddy.

She's had no allergic reactions and is good with all of the following:

• Green beans
• Peas
• Sweet Potato
• Squash
• Carrots
• Apples
• Bananas
• Prunes
• Pears
• Oatmeal
• Baby Mum-Mums (rice crackers)

I love when she opens her mouth for more like a little birdie.  Here she is around Halloween getting fed by Granma.  Excuse the scary red-eye in the second picture.



Pumpkinhead's First Halloween!

I've been lacking on the blogs lately folks.  Apologies!  Taking care of a baby is quite time consuming.  :)

Well, Halloween has come and gone but it was a good first for Miss Abicus!  As I mentioned in an earlier post, we had done the pumpkin patch / corn maze / hayride / Merrymead thing which was a lot of fun.  For actual Halloween, we waited at home for the trick-or-treaters - all 3 of them.  We had kids dressed as a princess, a bum, and Barack Obama.  Great combo. 

We also took Abby up to Granma's and Grandad's house to bring some Halloween cheer.  Abby was dressed as a little pumpkin for her first spooky holiday.  Here are some pics!
